Seventh Winter ISHNE Meeting at XXII Conference of the Working Group on Non-Invasive Electrocardiology and Telemedicine of Polish Cardiac Society was held on 2-5 March 2016 in Zakopane – the capital of the Polish Tatra mountains.
The conference, known as “Kasprowisko”, is an annual major event. Only recently the venue was changed to facilitate increasing number of registrations. This year the conference was attended by approximately 700 participants. Not surprisingly the conference attracts more and more participants, as Scientific Committee (this year led by Professor Malgorzata Kurpesa, President of the Working Group on Non-Invasive Electrocardiology and Telemedicine, Governer of Poland in ISHNE) assured rich and diverse program. At the Opening Ceremony prof. Malgorzata Kurpesa was awarded the Silver Norman for her contribution to Polish electrocardiology.
On the first day, the sessions were traditionally initiated by ECG Marathon, this year focused on interesting electrocardiograms with pacing. Though this session is held in Polish language, few presenters were from abroad, including the winner of first prize for the best debut presentation – doctor Mykhaylo Sorokivskyy from Lviv, Ukraine.
During the conference, there were two ISHNE sessions and we were honored to host distinguished experts as our guests: from Germany Vinzenz Hombach and Thomas Klingenheben; from Serbia Branislav Milovanovic and Tatiana Gligorijevic, from USA – Sławomir Łobodziński. ISHNE Vice-President Iwona Cygankiewicz was also present, as both chairperson and speaker.
There were also 4 sessions of Cardiology Meets Physics and Mathematics Workshops, with presenters from Poland, Slovakia, United Kingdom and Germany.
Once again, the conference was an exceptional opportunity to encounter pioneers of new diagnostic and therapeutic methods, exchange ideas, discuss interdisciplinary problems. The Organising Committee already invites to next year’s edition of „Kasprowisko”.
